A Pilgrimage to India!

In the eight weeks of February and March of 2013, Linnea, David, along with Patrick, Nicole and Isaac, will travel to India to offer their diverse music ministry at the sister Christian Medical Colleges of Vellore (in Tamil Nadu province in the south) and in Ludhiana (Punjab province in the north).  

Linnea and David have proposed to come to the campuses to offer a ministry of music, through song leading, chapel worship, bible study, biblical storytelling, staff retreats with music, song-writing workshops, children’s classes, and performances for staff and patients. They hope to visit outlying churches and schools in both regions. It is their hope and prayer that their music will be a refreshment to the chaplaincy and college/hospital staff.

This is a long-standing dream for Linnea and David: to be of assistance in this country that is so rich in culture and in faith. The colleges were each founded by women 100 years ago, in order to provide health care training for women practitioners so that women could receive treatment. Their mandate today is to provide care for all people regardless of religion, gender or financial means. Thousands of people come through their doors every week. Their ministry is profound and Christ-like, thus the opportunity to take part in it in a small way is a great privilege for a Canadian family.

We are seeking prayer and financial support for this pilgrimage of service and hope you will consider donating a small or large amount to carry them on this journey. Our estimated costs are toward $15,000 (mostly airfare). As of March 12, our supporters have raised $12,211! 

As Tim Scorer said in his letter to our supporters,
I wonder if together we might be able to generate a communal sense of sending Linnea, David, and their children off on a journey that is an extension of our own good will toward people who are engaged in healing, justice making and community building in other corners of the world. The Jonsson-Good family then becomes our link to other lives, other places of hope, other expressions of divine love offered in Jesus’ name.
